Admission Requirements
Candidates for the AMS Associate Early Childhood Credential must hold at least a high school diploma. Candidates for the AMS Early Childhood Credential must hold a college degree or its equivalent from an accredited institution. Previous teaching experience or background in education is not required.
Candidates for the Elementary I, II or I&II (6-9, 9-12 or 6-12) Credential must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Those without a degree may be accepted into the program at the sole discretion of the director. (The AMS elementary credential is not awarded until completion of the bachelor's degree.)
Elementary candidates who do not hold an Early Childhood Montessori credential must attend the "Introduction to Montessori" course immediately preceding the elementary training.
